Architectural Treatments
Our Treatments team provide a wide range of specialist conservation services including consultancy, design, ethical repair strategies and plans for the long-term sustainability of many substrates. A few examples of the skills and experience incorporated within the team are highlighted below.
Façade Cleaning & Repairs
We use sensitive and ethical facade-cleaning materials and equipment to conserve the exterior of historical structures, producing results of the highest standards and quality of finish. Our specialist techniques, including the Doff Steam Pressure System and Jos/Torc cleaning system, allow the team to sensitively remove substances from almost any building material without damaging the substrate either physically or chemically. These substances include paints, carbon deposits, graffiti and fungi.
Monument and Statuary Conservation
Our experienced team of conservators and stone masons have conserved many significant monuments and artefacts to high acclaim.
Most recently, within the formal grounds of Wrest Park, the team worked on over 100 monuments of all shapes, sizes and ages. The Carrara marble monumental fountain in particular, produced superb results and exceeded the expectations of the client, English Heritage.
Ceiling Suspension and Plasterwork Conservation
Our specialist team carry out careful conservation and work to retention of historic plaster surfaces (replacing sections where necessary) using a combination of traditional methods and materials and a scientific approach. This is only made possible through the development of modern conservation techniques and specialist expertise. Our established team of conservators and plasterers have extensive knowledge in the delicate treatment and application of plaster and render surfaces and decorative plasterwork conservation.
Consultancy and Advice
The management team together with our conservators, provide a comprehensive consultancy service, offering specialist advice as part of the practical treatment programme of works or independently, prior to the commencement of any project. Historical provenance and documentation is sourced to help formulate the best conservation practice. We work alongside other well established and known professional building surveyors and structural engineers and can therefore provide well considered and reliable treatment proposals.
